Satisfied that Miles didn’t look like he was going to shoot, she turned back to Clint, eyes dropping to the hand on her arm, small part of her wondering if anyone else could’ve done that and not have received a punch to the face.

“Where am I supposed to go Clint?” She asked, eyebrow raising, before she nodded shortly in Miles’ direction, “He’s the only reason I’m not in prison, probably the only reason I’m still alive at all,” She really didn’t want to get into that one, “I owe him and the Rising Tide everything. They’ve been good to me.” At least, Miles was.

She shook her head, looking away, forcefully reminding herself of the redacted file as she felt Miles’ glare, though not directed at her, burning into her back. “Besides, they’re the only way I’m ever going to get the answers I need.”

Clint watched her, holding on to her arm, not too tight, but fearing what would happen if he let go of her. Especially with her friend here, watching them like this.

He swallowed hard when Skye said that she owed the Rising Tide everything ( The Rising Tide? He was pretty sure he heard that name. Maybe he’d ask Phil ) and it looked like she’d go with him. Them. He shook his head, not even looking at Miles, just at Skye. Holding her arm a little tighter.

Skye, if you’re looking for answers, somewhere to go, just… I’ll help you. I can help you. SHIELD… I couldn’t help you at the circus, but here, I can. Come on Skye. Clint’s voice was quiet, his expression soft, vulnerable, something he wasn’t used to showing as a now ‘hardened SHIELD agent’. Come with me.
